Still in Maine, but getting Ready to leave!!

Hello Fellow Wayward Travelers!!!

Today I went to a Museum here in Bangor, Maine and then tried to find an open used book store to find some books for my collection. No luck - the shops on my list were out of business or closed. So, I went back to the trailer to do my domestic chores like laundry, dish washing, and updating all the BLOG Posts that I have missed. I got some of it done, but not all!!!

So, look at the BLOG Post for July 4th. It has been updated!!! That is the only one so the rest will have to wait until the next few days!!!

I am not going to post the pictures to todays BLOG because I have just run out of time today!! But, I will get them and their stories posted in the next few day. Just keep reading the BLOGs to see what is new!!!

Well, I have to get some other things done, so I will go for now and talk to you later,

Jon

Hello Fellow Wayward Travelers!!!

I am back to fill in what I did on July 7th that kept me so busy!!! As I said, t
oday I went to a Museum here in Bangor, Maine and then tried to find an open used book store to find some books for my collection. No luck - the shops on my list were out of business or closed. So, I went back to the trailer to do my domestic chores like laundry, dish washing, and updating all the BLOG Posts that I have missed. I got some of it done, but not all!!!

As for that museum, it was a private museum that celebrated transportation. It is called the Cole Land Transportation Museum. It was pretty good and had a lot of vehicles in it (not just cars). It had snow removal equipment ---

Snow rollers to pack the snow on the roads ---

Snowplows to move the snow out of the way ---

Snow blowers to throw the snow out of the way ---

And A snowmobile to ride on the snow ---

They had a Stanley Steamer Delivery Truck --- very unusual ---

A 1925 “camper”--- not quite like my travel trailer ---

Here’s a 1924 King Midget car that was for driving around town. It got 40 to 50 miles per gallon so it would fit right in with today’s modern cars ---

Here’s an old milk delivery truck – I am sure some of you got your milk this way (I did) ---

Here’s a 1914 Studebaker Truck, really nice!!! ---

Here’s a 1932 Ford Pickup that still looks nice ---

Here’s a military Half Track from WII ---

And that was about it for that museum. From here I tried to find those Used Book Stores, but came up empty handed. So I went back to the trailer and did laundry and such before preparing for the next day’s excursions.

Well, I am done for that day, so, with that, I will go for now, but I will see you all again tomorrow.

Again, to quote that great comedian, Red Skelton, "Good Night and May God Bless!"

Happy Trails ---- Jon
