Driving Through New York State!!!

Hello Fellow Wayward Travelers!!!!

Today was a driving day!!!

I couldn’t think of anything I really wanted to see and I just drove this route a few weeks ago, so I jumped on the freeway (Opps, they are not freeways and are called turnpikes over here – and they are toll roads!!!). I didn’t even pull out the camera because all I could see was the turnpike and a lot of cars!!!

Anyway, here’s how my day went ---

I left my RV Park in Pulaski, NY and turned on my GPS for Westfield, NY where the RV Park that I wanted to stay at is located. Then I did as my GPS told me and got onto I-81 and then I-90 and followed the signs until I hit Pennsylvania!!?? When I saw the signs for the Pennsylvania boarder, I knew I had gone too far, so I pulled into a rest stop and checked my GPS. As I was sitting still, it was driving along the road just clicking off the miles and then adding more miles, then going off where there was no road!!?? So, I turned it off and got out my maps and found that I had gone about ten miles too far west. So I turned around and headed back. I turned on the GPS to see if it was doing any better, and it found me and pointed to where I was going. I don’t know what was wrong with it, but I hope it doesn’t do that again!! It’s hard enough getting around with the GPS, but when you are by yourself, driving and trying to navigate at the same time, things go wrong!!! By that, I mean, I get very, very lost!!!

So, anyway, I made it to my RV Park and have settled in for the night.

Tomorrow, I will be driving through Ohio and into Michigan. Then I head north toward the Mackinaw Bridge. It will take me a few days to get there --- I’m thinking of a few places to see!!! I will let you know what I decide as we drive along!!!

Well, I am done for the day, so, with that, I will go for now, but I will see you all again tomorrow.

Again, to quote that great comedian, Red Skelton, "Good Night and May God Bless!"

Happy Trails ---- Jon
