Hello Fellow Wayward Travelers!!!
It's your "Wandering Wayward Traveler" still getting ready to take another road trip in his Little Ford Pickup pulling his Little Nomad Travel Trailer.
Yep, I’m still at home preparing to leave. The Little Ford Pickup is ready! But the Little Nomad Travel Trailer is being difficult!
I took the trailer in to get it ready and found that the tires weren’t up to what I would consider good for this trip. So, I got new tires put on. I haven’t seen them yet, but I ordered redials with raised white letters on the sides. It should be fancy, or rather, COOL!!! The bearings and brakes checked out great and the technicians started up all electrical and gas operated features of the trailer and they all checked out perfect!!! Then the de-winterizing of the fresh water system came. Here’s where the trouble began!!! Since the trailer has not been used very much in its earlier years, the fresh water system has sat with anti-freeze in it for a lot of the time. Guess what, mold can grow in this type of environment!!! And mold did grow in my fresh water tank!!! So much mold that it could not be killed and washed away properly. So the technicians are replacing the tank!! My trailer is still at the repair shop, but should be ready by tomorrow. We’ll see!!??
Once I get the trailer (tomorrow!!!), I can start packing it and getting myself ready! The personal things that I talked about in my last post are nearing completion, so my start time is still looking to be Sunday, 05/19/2013, at about 12:00 Noon when I leave home and head to my first stop in Oregon City, Oregon. I hope you are getting as excited to take this trip as I am!!!
Well,
I am going to close for tonight, but I will see you all again tomorrow and to
quote the great comedian, Red Skelton, “Good Night and May God Bless!”
Happy Trails --- Jon
