Hello Fellow Wayward Travelers!!!
It's your "Wandering Wayward Traveler" still, yes STILL, getting ready to take his road trip in his Little Ford Pickup pulling his Little Nomad Travel Trailer.
Today is looking better and better! As I said yesterday, I took the trailer in to get it ready and found numerous problems that I thought should be fixed before I left on such a BIG trip as I am contemplating. Well, I went in and picked up my "home on wheels" today and does it look nice!!! The Service Manager and Staff at Five Star RV Service Center went out of their way to making sure my Little Nomad Travel Trailer was up to specs and ready to go. The new tires were shinning black (I couldn’t get the raised white lettered tires that I was envisioning), the outside was clean, white and shinny, and the new fresh water tank was pumping clean, clear water. As I drove away, my truck and trailer were saying, “We are ready, let’s GO!!!!” At least, that’s what my mind was saying!!??
So what’s left to do … PACK!!! Tomorrow will be a day of packing clothes, food, maps, books, and just plain stuff! Remember that I will be on the road for two to three MONTHS!!! And I need to take enough “stuff” to make do for that time away without having to buy too much “stuff” along the way. I did okay last year and didn’t say, “Darn, I should have brought one more of those …!” Let’s see if I do as well this year!!!
So, tomorrow will be the last post to this BLOG from home. On Sunday, 05/19/2013, at about 12:00 Noon the 2013 Oregon Trail Road Trip will officially start! Are you getting as excited to take this trip as I am, now???!!!
There’s more to come, so keep in touch!!!
Well,
I am going to close for tonight, but I will see you all again tomorrow and to
quote the great comedian, Red Skelton, “Good Night and May God Bless!”
Happy Trails --- Jon
